2024 TikTok Favorites and January 2025 TikTok

Happy New Year! To bring 2024 to a close and kick off 2025, the ladies begin the episode recounting some of their favorite TikTok trends from the past year. They also discuss what is “in” and “out” this year featuring a video by @lukasbattle. For the FYP segment Dena shares the 2024 accomplishments trend (@baileydrinon) and Catalina discusses the wave of caviar content (@rihanna, @christysasso, @missmccartyny). The girls discuss the Walmart Birkin (@yourfinestpardon) and Jimmy Carter (@tswiftfan420) before wrapping up with some TikTok drama related to the Darnell family and The Real Real, featuring a video by @celebritymemoirbookclub.

December TikTok Trends: British Friends In NYC + More!

Happy Holidays! Dena and Catalina recount their roses and thorns from Dena’s wedding before getting into the British friend group visiting New York City that took TikTok by storm! They go to Raising Cains (@ieuanjoness), Katz’s Deli (@charlyannec), take the subway (@ieuanjoness) and try Wing Stop (@ieuanjoness). @mare_kell does a great parody of them, and @ericgoldie agrees that they are on everyone’s FYP. Dena’s FYP is full of fake college acceptance videos with examples from: @gianaacquafresca, @khimburlie, and @aubreygavelloo. Catalina’s FYP is filled with an audio trend with examples from: @yourloveiswicked, @delusional1611, and @aka..krw. On the New York City side of TikTok @char_inthecity shares the same love for an MTA bus as Dena, and @grimting explains her father’s Brooklyn accent. Lastly, for learning on Tiktok they feature a video by @julesjacobson about how to take better photos on your iPhone.

December TikTok Trends: Boq, The Nuuly Pants, and TikTok Shop

On this week’s episode the ladies start off with the Like a Prayer audio trend, including stories by creators @meganchacalos, @kjadeg, @clairee1998, @taylorkerrr24, and @tessyhill. Dena shares some of the latest videos on her algorithm including the Wirral Reader prank (@ifitwerentfunny, @oofieee, @jodipicoult) and Catalina discusses some TikTok reactions to the shooting of the United Healthcare CEO (@amycreyer), and the 2025 buy less trend. They also cover the Boq look alike contest (@the.marchie, @tswiftfan420) gracing both of their FYPs. Next up Dena discusses the cotton candy cake on TikTok shop, and they close with their New York segment featuring a video by @lowkeyyri.

December on TikTok: Football drama, Chipotle hacks, and even more Wicked

Catalina and Dena simply cannot stop talking about Wicked, and start this week’s episode with @hanrosnowland’s video comparing a scene to the Jersey Shore. Dena shares some roller coaster facts by @noni_solfeggio and a not-so-PC video by @kayleethetoothfairy, and Catalina discusses her success in @hellotefi’s comment section. In a new segment, because the ladies are most sport, the chat about the drama surrounding the OSU/Michigan football game (@jackmacbarstool, @lucy_rohden) and @philipanyengo’s video about “Disco Foot.” Finally, they wrap up with the food segment, chatting about @rachelinarealway’s Chipotle hack and @violetnuit’s reaction to a pineapple/mayo concoction.

Thankful for TikTok: November Trends

Dena and Catalina just got back from a trip to Curacao and Catalina found a new passion in snorkeling. They are still holding space for Wicked on TikTok with this viral interview and they have loved seeing the spoofs of it from @sackettc and @anagasteyer. @siennahubertross has a hilarious take on the Wicked press tour, @deadeyebrakeman has a theory that we are entering into our second Glee era, and @griffecks can’t study in the NYU library. Dena and Catalina break down their own experience seeing Wicked and Catalina is caught off guard that the movie is two parts. Dena’s FYP includes a video about Ozempic reversing beauty standards & the 17th century spice trade by @bitch_farm, and Catalina has a video that reminds her of her time in Curacao by @jgeranio. Dena explains the Kraft Mac and Cheese controversy @aceengel brought to TikTok as well as the Harry and David advent calendar peargate by @mad_mitch. Lastly, Catalina explains the viral Sootcase sound and Dena reviews an item bought off the TikTok shop.

November TikTok Trends: Wicked Movie, Sushi Drama, and More Margaritaville

Dena and Catalina begin this week’s episode with another Margaritaville video by @mtstorrs. In the algorithm segment, Dena shares the Lizzie McGuire/Prisontok videos gracing her page (@oyat.otto), people running marathons in Antarctica (@ashkickn1, @lrnsscndlife) and Wicked content (@lay_nie). Catalina discusses a clip from @trixieandkatya4life, @garron_music’s reflections on AI videos, and her doubts about video and posts circulating about Microsoft Word (@parentingandbooks). In the Food and Drink segment the ladies chat about the @keith_lee125 sushi worm incident, including an explainer by @conscious_christina, a series of next generation Jewish food products by @nate.rosen, and a Rita’s Chicken Cutlet update, featuring a video by @jenniferfrick_. Dena shares the @feedyourniche series in the NYC segment, and they wrap up the episode with @willowcarone’s video about Wicked and Taco Bell.

Welp, the election happened, and Dena and Catalina start off the episode with some reflections on the TikTok of it all. While some users are unfollowing people they are surprised to find out are Trump supporters, others like @deactivatedave wonder how they thought otherwise in the first place. @hannahkosh also covers Olivia Rodrigo’s decision to remove her song entirely from the platform after it was used in a celebratory Republican video. The ladies also discuss the backlash over Nicole Scherzinger, highlighting videos by creators @crawlita,@ryinskott, @itsjustlyle_ and @theatreislife. Dena shares a marathon follow up from @dianabideamusic, trombone player @allym00re, and sorority chef @oldscoolkevmo. Catalina discusses the BookTok election fallout and an amazing video by @alifeonbooks. In the NYC segment @bentonmcclintock discusses the fire in Prospect Park and @erikaveurink is annoyed people are trying to make Gowanus the hot new spot. Non-election-related November 2024 TikTok Trends

While Catalina is hosting a conference, Ashley, friend of the pod, joins Dena for this week’s episode. This week, you’ll find Dena & Ashley talking about the most important event of the week… the New York City Marathon (which Dena ran)! One runner (@justinehuang_) is spotted spiking mimosas on the course (@dianabideamusic), Pilot Pete talks about listening to one song on repeat (@sarah.hearon), and Dena talks about her experience with the Hasidim on the race course (@friedavizel). Ashley’s FYP has her crying over Cynthia Erivo (@culturemachineco) and while Dena is also getting a lot of Broadway content, she’s also getting content to roast Catalina’s voice notes (@jac_stern). October TikTok Trends: Halloween, Timothee Chalamet, and Onion Boil

It’s Halloween on TikTok! Dena and Catalina begin the episode with @mtstorrs’ trip to the Times Square Margaritaville Costume Contest and an amazing Lorax outfit (@kelseyalexandraan) before diving into the latest trends on their FYPs. @karenfrommeangirls remembers what Sophia from youth group did with her coins, and @matthewcpittman is providing teaching inspiration for Catalina. Dena’s algorithm includes @petunia_rocks, which brings the ladies to the topic of Melissa’s Purple Baby, and a duos trend (@daveandjanie). Next up the girls turn to the Timothee Chalamet lookalike contest in NYC, covered by creators including @iamnotmehak, @thecut, and @jadiecakes_. Late October TikTok Trends

This week’s episode of 2 Old 4 TikTok begins with Dena regaling Catalina with tales of the NY Liberty game and potentially contracting West Nile Virus before they delve into the topics at hand. First up they discuss the @snl TikTok segment. Next, in the FYP segment Catalina shares @feyanhoffman’s video of signing Vroom Vroom at a series of Charli XCX concerts, and Dena discusses a cheerleading incident (@camreactzz) and @averymcclure0’s reflections on the joy of TikTok. After a quick NYC updates about a Pigeon sculpture, they move on to audio trends, including an update on Brian Jordan Alvarez’s commitment to the “I love your daughter” sound clip, and a song/image trend by creators like @pearl.akdnzz.
