4:30 - Halloween Recap

The famous quote from Mean Girls about Halloween was trending for the holiday. Creators showed off their slutty and not-so-slutty costumes. Our favorites were a CVS receipt and Squidward.  

6:50 - Ryanair TikTok

The airline Ryanair (@ryanair) is killing it on TikTok and bringing all the other brands into the fun. Featuring a video from @rod. 

13:00 - November Trends 

An old viral meme about a snail is making the rounds on TikTok as @noahglenncarter explains, featuring videos from @joe_burke0227 and @rowdexplores. A new trend asks creators to post an old video that made them go viral, featuring @shelbiechey and @malcupnext. A new clip from American Horror Story Murder House is trending. Another trending audio shows someone telling their friend “you’re done,” after trying to pop their pimple, by @kittykatkittykatpur. A cute TikTok from @liliannawilde of her baking pie with her husband has some great stitch reactions from @kimchieats, @audge9129, and @bitch_fart.

And finally, Mariah Carey (@mariahcarey) lets us all know it’s time for Christmas.

A viral TikTok audio from @priscilla91_ features a sheriff saying, “Drink a 7up, eat a moonpie, quit murdering people.” The official Moonpie account (@theoriginalmoonpie) has a great response. 

22:08 - Metaverse

We love a TikTok from @sineadbovell explaining the metaverse and why Facebook and other tech companies are betting on it. 

28:00 - Halloween Audio Trends

The TikTok trends for Halloween include showing off your costume using audio from @olivia.madeira of “Bad Girls” by M.I.A., we feature a TikTok from @ashsotiro going as an airpod. Creator @ianasher mashes up “Somebody’s Watching Me” with “Thriller” and people are using it to show before and after looks for Halloween. A clip from American Horror Story where Sarah Paulson yells, “The killer is escaping,” has gone viral on TikTok. Sarah Paulson herself joined Lizzo (@lizzo) on TikTok to try the trend where you say the words without emotion. Billie Eilish (@billieeilish) flared her nostrils to the words. 

Our favorite creator this week is @happykelli. She does incredible transition videos. She recently turned into candy corn for Halloween.

21:30 - Audio Trends

We talk about the latest TikTok audio trends starting with a clip from Gordon Ramsay using examples from @irxpley and @wanderwithclaudia. The Great British Baking Show (@britishbakeoff) also has a trending audio. And @contejasmusic has turned an interview between Keke Palmer and Megan Thee Stallion into a trending TikTok tune. Celebrities like Ed Sheeran (@edsheeran) and Meghan Trainor (@meghantrainor) have used the audio, and we feature our favorite examples from @boogereater2.0 and @terrell_jarius. 

For celebrities on TikTok, we predict Adele will join soon. Her single is making its way around TikTok for now.

A new trending TikTok song comes from @_vhs.leo called Rosalena featuring a scene from Ladybugs. 

35:30 - Creator Spotlight: Elyse Myers

Creator spotlight this week is on Elyse Myers (@elysemyers). She sings “Mm what’d you say?” and tells an insane story about a taco date. Featuring a fan girl video from @emmalinechilds.

We’ve become obsessed with Briggs Edwards @briggsedwards on TikTok. He went viral posting a video of himself doing a TikTok dance to Neon Moon by DJ Noiz. He used the hashtag #pledgetok so he seems to be pledging a fraternity at UNC. His video went viral and everyone loves him. Featuring commentary from @mackenzie0austin. 

27:30 - Audio Trends

The first audio trend uses a snippet from Borat comparing himself to his neighbor. The next one is from @stinkyballs666 saying “Something LGBT just happened to me.” Featuring videos from @johnnywizzz and @mistermusk.

Dena and Melissa start the show talking about the latest absurd trend on TikTok: Berries and Cream. Thanks to @knowyourmeme we learn how it started and why TikTokers are obsessed. One creator (@greerhiltabidle) claims to work with the advertisment’s creator, another TikToker (@therapy_thoughts) offers therapy for those stuck on Berries and Cream Tok. There are also remixes with DMX and other musicians. 

11:50 - Victoria Paris TikTok

We explain the trending hashtag #victoriaparisblockedme. Featuring a video from @fluentlyforward1 citing an article from The Cut. Another creator, @susannahjoffe, shows us how easy it is to get blocked by the infamous Victoria Paris.

18:00 - Emily Zugay Logos

Creator Emily Zugay (@emilyzugay) has gone viral on TikTok creating new logos for some of the world’s top brands. We feature a video from Jera Bean (@jera.bean) explaining how brands have changed their social media handle profile pictures to Emily’s new logo. 

23:40 - Broadway Is Back

With Broadway coming back to New York City, TikTok accounts like @disneyonbroadway and @khaila.wilcoxon and @waitressmusical are promoting their shows (Lion King, Hadestown, Waitress).

Dena and Melissa start the show talking about the latest pop culture news with New York Fashion Week, the Met Gala, and Nicki Minaj. We loved seeing one of our favorite TikTok stars Davis Burleson (guest on episode 27!) at all the NYFW events.

The first TikTok trend this week is making fun of Straight TikTokers pretending to get arrested, but in a thirst-trappy way. We feature videos from @brodywellmaker and @christianmhull. Next, all sides of TikTok came together to roast this guy giving advice to help women get men. Our favorite response comes from @yeahitsak talking about his “monster truck.” 

13:40 - Song Trends

This week’s song trends include an audio snippet called “Boo Zoos Waffle Fries.” It says, “What are you doing in my house? I want waffle fries.” The original audio is from @itsamewario48, he voices Boozoo from The Walten Files on Youtube. “Mama Said” by Lukas Graham is also trending, we feature TikToks from @savedbythedels and @mackedy (shoutout to Mrs. Space Cadet, guest on episode 19!), and highlight creators praising Remi Bader. Know Your Meme (@knowyourmeme) explains the “Good soup” trend from Adam Driver on Girls. 

22:30 - Cleaning TikTok

We love a video where @jessiesayhey uses ketchup to clean a pot. We also talk about cleaning rugs and smoke-ridden walls. 

25:30 - Conan TikTok

Conan O’Brien’s Team Coco (@teamcoco) is on TikTok, whether or not he knows it. His assistant beautifully explains all the great things on TikTok, it’s not just for dancing teenagers. We agree!

We devote the rest of the show to discussing “He’s All That,” arguably the first “TikTok” movie, starring Addison Rae and Tanner Buchanan. We compare it to the original “She’s All That” with Freddie Prinze Jr., Matthew Lillard, and Rachel Leigh Cook. We discuss all the product placement, featuring a Gawker article, and note a TikToker cameo from @spencerx.
