Spring 2025 TikTok Trends

Dena and Catalina start off the episode with a discussion of friend of the pod Ashley’s recent TikTok hacking. In her honor they discuss Blue dress girl and the other “dress girls” that came after (@kr1staboi, @chronicallystayingstrong, @islandentertainment, @haydeczo7mp). In the FYP segment Dena shares @stinkyasher’s video of popular girls giving a presentation and @shannanferrytv pushing the product jail button at CVS. Catalina shares a video of male bobs (@giorgia.bandini) and chats about reactions to Remi Bader, including a breakdown by @ashy.nicolee. Next up is a brief discussion of the Welsh 5 (@uksecrettravel) before turning to Food and Drink trends. Catalina tried Cottage Cheese Bagels and the ladies discuss @myinternetcousin’s beverage preparation lineup. The celebrity on TikTok spotlight is Isaac Mizrahi ( @imisaacmizrahi) trying to toast bread, and they close with a ChatGPT video by @leta_bitchknow in the learning on TikTok segment.

RichTok, SkinnyTok, FoodTok, Oh My

The girls begin the episode with some chat about Catalina’s time in Brazil, including her foray into Brazil TikTok featuring a video by @pedrinho.e.mamae.rose. Next, Dena discusses entering the Skinny Tok side of the platform and a dear friend’s Harry Potter AI video rabbit hole (@potterstudioso). For audio trends they cover Beyonce’s End of Time (@gbrotherso) and the uncomfortable life clip from White Lotus (@marianarinc_, @marcgreene1). After they turn to their FYP’s. Dena has some March Madness content like @marchmadnesswbb, and Catalina has the “my food” guy (@myfoodisme2), a man enjoying squid (@baldassare570) and a parody by @carolinebaniewicz. To wrap up they discuss Dena’s attempt at making cottage cheese bagels and their content creator of the week, @beccaxbloom.

March Madness on TikTok (everything except basketball)

On this week’s episode of 2Old4TikTok, Dena is joined by Melissa, Co-Founder of the pod, while Catalina settles down from her travels in Brazil. We start off with Nikki Blonsky Tiktok Cameos, featuring content from @theanwarali and @kylegfil_. And easily transition into Broadway TikTok with a video from @andrewpatino. The best part of TikTok is the comments, as displayed by trending content that asks viewers for responses like this one from @missfrizzyhead. Melissa’s FYP really said “For You” with videos about weird anxiety from @toricadogan and @kendotzee. We love @leahdaviscomedy’s take on Andy Cohen’s fan questions. Dena and Melissa discuss the latest Food Tok trends like Stuffed Tomatoes from @bigpapahannah, innocuous food podcasters @mdfoodieboyz, and the return of @emilymariko (but she never actually left). We end with our favorite Bethenny Frankel recapper @elaziee.

March 2025 TikTok Trends could never be boring!

On this week’s episode of 2Old4TikTok, Dena is joined by Ashley, friend of the pod, while Catalina wears adult diapers on her flight to Brazil. We start off with Traitors content (@morganevelyncook) because if you didn’t watch then what were you even doing? They talk about other themes from the week including Hozier’s yell (@rachelspicer_, @_coleslaw128) and always Chili’s (@calebsaysthings). We learn from Doechii, herself, about her song “Anxiety” as a follow-up to last week (@iamdoechii_). Dena’s FYP taught us what Dinosaur Time is (@sahmthingsup, @mamabearl_e) and we learned how much Bran Flakezz made in a year (@yourrichbff). And of course what FYP page would be complete without millennial content (@lizleatrice). Ashley’s FYP was serving Gaga while Gaga was serving reheated nachos (@monstershq). We then head to NYC for some boring influencer beef (@cedonifrancis, @opinionatedhag) before hearing about Ashley’s failed attempt at the viral cottage cheese bagels (@bethennyfrankel).

March TikTok Trends

We’re back! Dena returns from Japan on this week’s episode of 2 Old 4 Tiktok and there is a lot for the ladies to catch up on. They open with discussion of how the Oscars played out on their timelines, including a video by @elirallo, @terrencefoconnor’s new take on Emilia Perez and @civicsdea’s critique of the Adrian Brody acceptance speech. The audio trend of the moment is Doechii’s Anxiety, and Dena’s FYP is @mynamebeval reflecting on the days of millennial clubbing. Catalina discusses the Alabama Barker and Bhad Bhabie saga (@r0mymars, @jessjaybee,@chrisklemens) as well as @oliviamlynn ordering steak from the meat counter and corporate humor by @ro.hanrex. In the food segment they chat about @babyhandsbakes’s Diet Coke cake and in Learning on TikTok cover @mathandcobb talking about new math and @doctor.bing giving some insight on memory and brain health.

Celebrating 200 Episodes of TikTok Trends

Catalina and Dena are joined by special guest and OG co-host Melissa for a very special 200th episode. First up they play a game to celebrate, followed by two quick updates on the woman in Pakistan and the Welsh Five. After they discuss TikTok Superbowl content, including a woman who was trying to have her baby out of spite (@naniamour_, @hollmanfam), Kendrick’s performance, Serena’s Crip walk (@kierabreaugh) and of course the lackluster commercials (@mad_mitch). Next is the audio trends segment, where they cover the Emergency Contact trend from creators including @thenameisgrace, @sydneycrawfordd, and @maryyyywilliams. Dena highlights a fart video from her FYP by @badgyaldemm2 and Catalina shares @dspacestv’s discussion of the early 2000s fever dream that was the Mars 2112 restaurant. To close they discuss @babytamago’s Paloma Jell-O shots and Dino walkie talkies on the TikTok shop.

February 2025 on TikTik: Grammys, The Welsh 5, and the Woman in Pakistan

The ladies start off the podcast with a Grammys and TikTok recap, including some key reflections from long-time favorite creator @elirallo. Sike! TikTok is back! Catalina and Dena dive in with creators like @supacarson, @high5ifyourestillalive, @ashley..farrell, @kesha, and @joolieannie reacting to the extremely short lived ban, the “since we’re all going to die” secrets trend, and uneasy return by many to the platform. Dena shares what’s up on her FYP, including the Ohio State Dance team (@superiiorcheer), @badgurlmimi shouting out her most loyal follower, and @momlifestlouis53 eating peaches. Catalina highlights @brettneyspears’s commentary on what’s amiss on the platform, bizarre ads she’s getting, and a video by @jegskaltapadeg about Olivia Rodrigo. Wrapping up, Dena shares an NYC video by @annie.bao about a day spent trying viral food places in the city.

Goodbye TikTok?: Red Note, Heidi Montag, and bidding farewell to our Chinese spies

Is TikTok over? The girls kick off this week’s episode with discussion of the looming TikTok ban and Dena’s denial that the platform is going away in the USA. In one of the most hilarious (and potentially last) eras of TikTok trends, people are making their way to Chinese App Red Note, with creators like @cameronjerrard, @kathleenlinpan, and @jessiejbro_ joining in on the conversation. Spencer Pratt @spencerpratt is also working overtime in the app’s ninth hour to bring Heidi’s song I'll Do It to number one on streaming platforms in the wake of the California fires, with celebrities like Flava Flav, Diplo, and former cast members from The Hills Joining in. Dena shares the comedy gold coming out of the season finale of TikTok from her FYP including commentary on people’s “Chinese Spy” (@yanxiao1003) and what people are and aren’t willing to do if the app goes away (@gabriella.rose.music, @adrierising). Catalina lost her voice but tries as hard as possible to discuss Bad Bunny’s new album, including videos by @chrisbechillin0 and @_eunicejimenez. They wrap up with a parody learning on TikTok (@mrburgies), an update on the frozen popcorn trend, and Catalina’s big back anecdotes.

January 2025 TikTok Trends: Beyonce’s announcement, NYC Fear Factor, and Frozen Popcorn - add ‘em all to Favorites

This week’s episode of the pod features Dena and special guest, Ashley, as they run through some January trends. Ashley goes through her top TikTok moments of 2024 including Catalina’s love for the Brian Jordan Alvarez dance videos. Then they talk about the newest trend: big back (@meggyirl). Dena shares other videos on her FYP including the Beyonce Jan 14 announcement predictions (@iam_kjmiller, @thesoftestbunny_) as well as @jesswells58 talking about how we should have chosen reality TV > college. Ashley got a hilarious Nuuly haul video by @marygrace.burton on her FYP. Then they took a turn for the dark into NYC-Tok with videos about the subway (@jamesssryan), congestion pricing (@hereinnyc), and the carpet guys (@perezbrenna). On Food-Tok, they talk about Bradley Cooper’s new cheesesteak spot and frozen popcorn (@allrecipes). The newest audio trend Dena has seen is a lovely rendition of Rich Girl and they end talking about the Golden Globes.
